Our shutters are available with 2.5”, 3.5” and 4.5” louver sizes and are crafted from real wood (no vinyl, composite, mdf, particle board, etc.) utilizing mortise/tenon joinery, rabbeted panels to prevent light leakage, and Sherwin Williams’ highest quality paints and stains. 5. Shutter out trouble! How Plantation Shutters do their part to keep your home safe: It is common for homes to have low window sills that are easily accessible by babies or young children. If windows of this nature have blinds or shades that are kept in a lowered position, this typically is not a safety concern if the cords (also known as “toddler magnets”) are trimmed to the appropriate length, as the lowered position of the blind should keep the cords out of reach of babies/young children. However, this can easily become a serious safety concern if the blinds/shades are raised and the cords are not secured out of reach from young children. This is where we state the obvious…. Plantation Shutters Do Not Have Cords!
Another way shutters do their part to keep your home safe is the “deterrent effect”. It is easy for a burglar to quietly break a window to gain access to a home. And while blinds, drapes, and curtains can be easily pushed aside, shutters present a much riskier proposition for would-be intruders.
